AfrEd is a Tanzania-based NGO specializing in education, established in 2022, registered under the number 00NGO/R/4154.
Its primary goal is to improve primary and secondary school students’ performance in science subjects and English Language by addressing technological and infrastructural gaps in public schools. Recognizing the shortage of science teachers and facilities, AfrEd creates structures to ensure students nationwide can access quality science education.
With its head office in Bagamoyo District, Pwani Region, AfrEd operates nationally, supporting government and private sector initiatives for better education access.
AfrEd is transforming education across Tanzania by empowering teachers with modern strategies and ICT tools, bridging gaps in resources and teaching quality, and ensuring students in underserved communities have access to qualified educators. By integrating technology into schools, we’re fostering digital literacy and creating innovative learning environments, paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future in education.
Help us bridge education gaps in Tanzania. Your support can provide teachers with the tools they need, give students access to better learning, and integrate technology into classrooms.
The aim of the projects is to improve English communication skills and develop student talents by training teachers in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and using e-learning tools, ultimately empowering both educators and students in secondary schools.
Considering the acute disparity of English Language and Science subject teachers in public schools. AfrEd is building a Learning Management System (LMS) for all students to access education despite the location.
