Considering the acute disparity of English Language and Science subject teachers in public schools, AfrEd is building a Learning Management System (LMS) and offer online lessons to support access of content to teachers and students in public schools focusing on English Language and Mathematics. The LMS will be accessible to both students and teachers who will be trained on how to access and complete modules. The project includes learning and sharing sessions which will be held quarterly involving 150 teachers selected from the project area based on performance criteria. These sessions will feature exhibitions and best lessons will be awarded.   

This project shall use a structured literacy approach that emphasizes on systematic instruction across English Language and Mathematics. Students will be taught reading aspects of language lake coding, encoding, vocabulary, sentence and text to help them read and understand a variety of texts.
