Effective communication is a cornerstone of quality education. Through the E-comm project, supported by the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania, we are dedicated to enhancing English language instruction by equipping teachers with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) skills. This approach fosters interactive and student-centered learning environments, ensuring that students develop strong communication abilities essential for academic and professional success.

In our second teacher training session, we focused on interpersonal communication, a crucial aspect of language learning that enables students to express themselves confidently and engage in meaningful conversations. A total of 102 English teachers from Dunda, Shushila, Nia Njema, Hassanal Damji, Zinga, Mapinga, Chasimba, Fukayosi, Kiromo, and Kingani Secondary Schools in Bagamoyo District participated in this intensive workshop.
The training provided teachers with practical strategies to make learning more engaging and interactive. By shifting from traditional lecture-based methods to collaborative and experiential learning, teachers are now better equipped to create classrooms where students are active participants rather than passive listeners. The session explored techniques to enhance student engagement, encourage classroom discussions, and promote problem-solving skills through real-life communication scenarios.

Our goal is to transform classrooms into dynamic spaces where students can develop critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in their language skills. By integrating CLT principles, teachers can inspire students to take ownership of their learning, communicate effectively, and apply their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Through initiatives like the E-Comm Project, we continue to support educators as change-makers, ensuring that students not only learn English but also gain the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
