AfrEd, African Child Project, and Basic Internet Launch School Connectivity Initiative in Bagamoyo

AfrEd, in partner with the African Child Project and Basic Internet, has officially launched a School Connectivity Project aimed at improving digital access and enhancing learning opportunities for students in secondary schools across Bagamoyo District.

As part of the initiative, internet infrastructure has been installed and internet routers connected in six secondary schools: Kerege Secondary School, Nia Njema Secondary School, Kingani Secondary School, Chasimba Secondary School, Matibwa Secondary School, and Makurunge Secondary School.

The project seeks to bridge the digital divide by providing reliable internet connectivity to schools, enabling students and teachers to access online educational resources, digital learning platforms, and global knowledge networks.

Through this partnership, the schools will benefit from improved access to information and communication technologies (ICT), supporting quality education and preparing students with the digital skills needed for the 21st century.

Speaking about the initiative, project partners emphasized the importance of internet connectivity in transforming education, improving teaching and learning outcomes, and creating equal opportunities for students in underserved communities.

The successful installation of internet infrastructure marks a significant milestone in expanding digital inclusion and strengthening education systems in Bagamoyo District. The partners remain committed to supporting schools and communities in leveraging technology to enhance learning and educational development.
